We all love to picnic. You can keep healthy eating habits and still have a tasty summer cookout.
Choose the Right Meat
Burgers and chicken can work great. Choose organic hot dogs when needed and wrap sandwiches with lettuce or collard greens instead of bread.
Toppings and Homemade Sides
Pickles, mustard, and ketchup are fine when organic. Skip preservative-heavy store salads and grill colorful vegetables like zucchini, squash, asparagus, peppers, and cauliflower.
Dips, Drinks, and Treats
Choose organic salsa, hummus, guacamole, and fresh veggies. For crunch, try cassava or plantain chips. Drink water or lemonade sweetened with monk fruit.
Watermelon and strawberry mousse sweetened with maple syrup are great healthy picnic desserts.
