Getting Your Kids to Eat Their Veggies
As seen on WFMZ 69 News
Kids can be picky eaters, but veggies are so important. We all need to eat our vegetables, especially children who are growing strong teeth and bones and healthy brains.
Kids like fruit smoothies, especially in summer. Start with berries, apple, and coconut water or water. Then get sneaky with avocado, cucumber, spinach, kale, ginger, or beets.
Make popsicles from the smoothie. Add maple syrup if needed, pour into cups, freeze, and cut the cup open. It is a fun, healthier dessert.
Get the kids involved with a backyard garden and kitchen veggie crafts. Include healthy dips like hummus, guacamole, sunbutter, or tzatziki.
Being a good example and getting kids involved helps healthy eating habits stick long-term.
