Why Do A Detox?

Most of our clients do a detox at least once while participating in our nutritional program, and some appreciate the benefits so much they like to do a yearly purging. But why? If you are suffering from any physical symptoms such as headaches, joint pain, fatigue, nausea, hormonal imbalances, you may begin to realize that you are not as healthy as you should be and a detox may help.

Isn’t the topic of detox just a pleasant way to say that you will starve yourself and be deprived of anything good and yummy for 28 days? Well, that idea is truly hogwash. The 28 day detox has a tremendous list of benefits, and some testimonies that we have received in our office proclaim increased energy, better sleep, thinking clearly, lower cholesterol levels, no more brain fog, a smoothly functioning gastro-intestinal tract, clearer skin, boost immunity, improve physical endurance, eliminate body aches, lose weight including belly fat, and much more!

In order to achieve these delightful benefits, it does take some work. The overall idea of detoxing is to give your body a break from its normal duties of digestion so that the organs, such as liver, kidney and gastro-intestinal system can clean house. There may be 30+ years of toxins that your body would like to eradicate, which is why our 28 day program may seem extensive but yet is so helpful if your goal is to restore and rebuild.

At your local pharmacy or health food store, you may have encountered a promotional package, or a “do-it-yourself” kit, so that you can detox on your own. I have seen quite the variety; “3 day cleanse”, “Colon Cleanse”, “Candida Cleanse”, “Detox Tea”, “Intestinal Cleanse”, “Complete Guide to Body Purging””. Without a doubt, some of these products do contain some fragments of what you may need for a FULL-SYSTEM 28 day WHOLE BODY DETOX, but on their own, they could cause more harm than good. It is also essential to weekly monitor if you are clearing out as needed. If you go to extreme lengths to do a detox and you are constipated, you are wasting your time and making the situation worse. Sometimes the liver, or kidney will also be a bit overworked during this time, and cannot perform their own duties as needed. In our office, we take extreme care in fine-tuning each protocol as needed for each client.
