11 ingredients 7 steps

A deeply nourishing bone broth simmered for 24-48 hours with organic bones, vegetables, and fresh herbs.

Ingredients

  • 1 4 lbs organic bones (beef, chicken, or mixed)
  • 2 2 organic carrots, chopped
  • 3 3 organic celery stalks, chopped
  • 4 1 sprig fresh rosemary
  • 5 1 tbsp fresh dill
  • 6 2 tbsp fresh parsley
  • 7 2 cups Swiss chard, chopped
  • 8 4 whole garlic cloves
  • 9 Himalayan pink salt, to taste
  • 10 1/4 cup liquid aminos (or to taste)
  • 11 Optional: any vegetable or herb scraps you have on hand

Instructions

  1. 1

Roast the bones: Place bones on a baking sheet and broil in the oven for 30 minutes, until fragrant and nicely browned.

  2. 2

Build the broth: Add bones to a large stockpot along with vegetables, herbs, garlic, and any veggie or herb scraps.

  3. 3

Add water: Cover everything with good-quality, filtered water.

  4. 4

Simmer: Bring to a gentle simmer, then reduce heat to low. Simmer for 24-48 hours, skimming off any foam that rises to the top and adding more water as needed.

  5. 5

Finish with herbs: Add delicate herbs (parsley, dill, rosemary) during the last 30-60 minutes of cooking.

  6. 6

Season: Add Himalayan pink salt and liquid aminos to taste.

  7. 7

Strain and store: Strain broth, discard solids, and store in glass jars in the refrigerator or freezer.
